2 Simple Face Masks You Can Make at Home

Have you heard the latest update from the CDC? The Center for Disease Control (CDC) has determined that a large number of people with coronavirus don’t even show any symptoms but can still transmit the virus. So, in order to slow the spread of COVID-19 they recommend that everyone wears a cloth face mask when you leave your home and go out in public. Of course, the challenge now is finding a face mask. Don’t worry. Face cloth face masks are actually very simple to make. I’d like to share two very simple DIY face mask instructions that you can make right at home.

No-Sew Cloth Face Covering

Supplies Needed:
• Old T-shirt
• (2) Rubber bands
• Pair of Scissors

 

No-Sew Pleated Face Mask

Supplies Needed:
• Handkerchief or Bandana
• (2) Rubber bands or elastic hair ties

 

Instructions:

  1. Place the handkerchief face down.
  2. Fold the top to the center.
  3. Fold the bottom to the center.
  4. Flip over. 
  5. Fold the top to the center.
  6. Fold the bottom to the center.
  7. Flip over.
  8. Thread the ends of the handkerchief through the hair ties.
  9. Fold the sides of the handkerchief.
  10. Flip over. You have a pleated face mask!
